About Spiritfilled

Spiritfilled is a whisky cask investment company and independent bottler, founded in 2019 and headquartered in the UK. We help clients buy, store, manage, and sell Scotch whisky casks - guiding them through every stage of cask ownership with clarity and expertise.

Unlike many brokers, we are also operators. We own Braeside Bond, an HMRC-licensed bonded warehouse in Fife, Scotland, where the majority of client casks are stored. We also release rare single cask multi-award winning whiskies under our own Mythical Beasts bottling label - which means we select casks with a genuine commercial eye, not just as an intermediary.

Our clients range from first-time investors to experienced collectors. What they share is a preference for tangible assets that sit outside traditional financial markets - and a desire to work with a company that is transparent about costs, realistic about returns, and fully committed to a successful exit.

OUR HISTORY

  1. 2019

    COMPANY FOUNDED

    Spiritfilled was established by Russell Spratley and Ross Archer with a simple premise: that whisky cask investment should be straightforward, transparent, and guided by genuine expertise. From day one they set about building direct relationships with Scottish distilleries, bonded warehouses, and the broader cask trade.

  2. 2021

    MYTHICAL BEASTS LAUNCHED

    The Mythical Beasts independent bottling label was launched — releasing rare, single cask Scotch whiskies selected by the Spiritfilled team. The label has since won multiple awards and cemented Spiritfilled's credibility as both investors and genuine industry participants.

  3. 2024

    BRAESIDE BOND OPENED

    Spiritfilled opened Braeside Bond — an HMRC-licensed bonded warehouse in Fife, Scotland. Owning the warehouse means clients' casks are stored in a fully compliant facility under Spiritfilled's direct management, removing reliance on third-party storage providers.

    £36M ASSETS UNDER MANAGEMENT

    1,500+ investors worldwide and £36 million in assets under management.

    123 distilleries represented and 9,000 casks stored at Braeside Bond.

    Five new Mythical Beast whiskies, bringing the collection to 28 releases.

    1 Gold Medal, 1 Silver Medal, IWSC.

Why we built Spiritfilled differently

"When Ross and I started Spiritfilled, we were frustrated by an industry that was opaque, commission-driven, and often more interested in selling casks than in getting clients a genuine return.

We believed there was a better way: build direct relationships with distilleries, own our own warehouse so we are accountable for what happens to client casks, and never recommend a cask we wouldn't buy ourselves. That philosophy led us to create Mythical Beasts — our own bottling label — so we stay commercially sharp about what makes a cask valuable.

We are not a financial product. We are whisky people who help investors own something real. Every client gets honest guidance, a clear view of costs, and an exit strategy from the outset. That is what separates us — and why more than 1,500 investors trust us to look after their casks."
